Research to Practice Brief: Delivering on the Promise Through Equitable Policies - (pdf) This publication is the work of the Equity Research Action Coalition at the UNC Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute. Their mission is to conduct research that informs practices and policies aimed at protecting, promoting, and preserving the health, economic security, and cultural excellence of Black and other minoritized children and their families.

Side By Side: A Playbook on Centering and Promoting Equity in Early Education - (pdf) Equity in early childhood care and education is a word we hear often, but what does it look like at the start of life? What does equity mean to the people most impacted by racism, marginalization, and other systems of oppression? This playbook was developed by School Readiness Consulting and centers powerful stories from families, providers, and ECE leaders sharing the triumphs and challenges of those who have committed to giving children a strong start.

Strengthening Diversity Community of Practice - (webpage) The SD CoP is an independent, collaborative workgroup that brings together a diverse array of early childhood agencies and professionals committed to advancing equity and promoting culturally responsive practices in Wisconsin. Here you’ll find resources in both English and Spanish as well as Professional Development Minis that are intended to help open up reflective and productive conversations around equity in early childhood. 

Sesame Street in Communities: Racial Justice  - (webpage) Provides articles and videos that help parents and providers to engage honestly and directly with little ones to build racial literacy (the skills needed to talk thoughtfully about race and to identify and respond to racism).

Early Childhood Expulsions And Suspensions Undermine Our Nation's Most Promising Agent of Opportunity and Social Justice - (pdf) A brief from the Yale Child Study Center & Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that explores the who, what, & why of suspensions/expulsions, its importance to education and social justice, and current efforts to curtail the practice.

Promoting Racial Equity in Early Childhood - (webpage) A collection of resources from Zero to Three that offer insight and guidance on racial justice and equity issues in early childhood. 

Equity Resources from Head Start - (webpage) These resources from Head Start’s Early Childhood Learning & Knowledge Center (ECLKC) promote an equity-focused mindset. They emphasize the importance of consistent, systemic, and fair access to comprehensive services and systems for everyone, including chronically underserved populations.

Honoring Diversity Module - (webinar) In this 45-minute, self-paced tutorial from Resources for Early Learning, you will explore best practices in honoring diversity. Three short videos will show seasoned educators using best practices in action. After watching each video, you’ll review and reflect on what you’ve seen and heard. 

The Children’s Equity Project - (website) The Children's Equity Project is a child policy center, housed at Arizona State University and led in partnership with scholars at 12 universities across the country. Here you can find research, resources, and reports on a variety of early childhood topics.
