WI Pyramid Model: About

The Pyramid Model is a multi-leveled system of support to enhance social and emotional competence in infants, toddlers, and young children. It offers evidence based strategies for parents and professionals to support optimal development and prevent challenging behaviors.

The Pyramid Model is consistent with the public health/mental health model of promotion, prevention, and intervention. The Pyramid Model framework is a Response to Intervention (RtI) for early childhood. Program wide implementation of the Pyramid Model is the model for implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in programs for young children.
