This document represents an attempt to organize program requirements, licensing rules, policies, statutes, and program standards that pertain to a range of programs for young children and their families in Wisconsin. Specifically, the document includes information for the following programs:

  • Child Care Centers
  • Head Start Programs
  • Birth to 3 Early Intervention Programs
  • Kindergarten for 4 and 5 year olds
  • Special Education for children between 3 and 5 years old
  • National Association for the Education of Young Children Accreditation Standards

This document is designed to support development of collaborative programs that must comply with rules, standards, regulations, etc from multiple sources. Every attempt has been made to insure the completeness of this document and the accompanying appendices but the original complete documents should be consulted in making programming decisions. Reference to source documents are included throughout.
