Description of Training:
The newly developed Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards use the developmental domains that provide a basis for developing learning experiences for young children. They include: Health and Physical Development; Social and Emotional Cognition and General Knowledge; Language Development and Communication; and Approaches to Learning. This workshop will introduce participants to the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. Participants will learn how to use the WMELS to establish learning goals, determine appropriate curriculum and activities, and determine procedures to measure progress toward the established goals. There will be an opportunity for participants to review several common early childhood curricula that are currently being used and develop lesson plans for use in their classroom. This workshop is designed for all early childhood educators who want to continue to improve the quality of early education and care for children ages three through the completion of kindergarten.
