ACTIVE EARLY & HEALTHY BITES
Active Early & Healthy Bites are companion guides designed to help early care and education professionals address childhood obesity by improving physical activity and nutrition in the program.
Active Early focuses on physical activity while Healthy Bites focuses on health eating, nutrition environments and on strengthening the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) meal pattern. The guides are based on current science, public health research and national recommendations.

The Wisconsin Early Childhood Obesity Prevention Initiative (WECOPI) (pdf) - Collaborative, Evidence-Based, Statewide, Multi-Strategy, Sustainability-Focused initiative for improving nutrition and physical activity among young children. The core collaborative includes members from 3 State Departments (DHS, DPI, and DCF), along with UW-Extension, UW-Madison and several state & regional-level early care & education and child advocacy organizations & agencies.
