Description

This three-module course is designed to increase knowledge of the process of ongoing assessment and provide opportunities to practice various assessment strategies. Each module contains an overview that identifies readings, handouts, activities, and instructor notes. Some handouts are provided in the form of links to the document on the web. Other word document handouts are included in the Overviews. There is a PowerPoint presentation that supports each module. Readings for the course are primarily from the following two texts:
  1. Grisham-Brown, J., Hemmeter, M.L., & Pretti-Frontczak, K. (2005). Blended Practices for Teaching Young Children in Inclusive Settings. Baltimore: Paul Brookes Publishing Company.
  2. McAfee, O. & Leong, D. (2002). Assessing and Guiding Young Children's Development and Learning. Boston: Allyn & Bacon.
